UNITED FOR INDEPENDENCE

Hope Over Fear – Back in Freedom Square demanding IndyRef2 to deliver Scotland’s Freedom

Hope Over Fear has organised independence rallies involving live entertainment interspersed with rousing speeches every year since October 2014 stating categorically our commitment to shake off the restrictive and exploitative chains of Westminster’s corrupt and corrosive rule by all democratic means possible. Due to Covid19 restrictions we could not assemble in September 2020, but we aim to make up for that absence with a bigger rally than ever this September on Sunday the 19th almost seven years to the day after the 2014 Referendum which we so nearly won against all the odds.

We are assembling to demand the Scottish Government use the democratic mandate they secured in May’s Scottish Parliament elections to call IndyRef2 with or without the consent of Westminster. We demand the Scottish Government informs Westminster of the proposed date in Spring of 2022. We do not ask Westminster for permission we respectfully inform them of our intention. Scotland is a nation trapped in a voluntary union of other nations and that arrangement is holding back our potential to flourish as a fairer, more prosperous and peace love country committed to social welfare not destructive warfare.

Hope Over Fear assembled in Glasgow’s George Square in October 2014 to lift the spirits of the whole independence movement and declare our intention to never give up our hope for a new, better, and fairer independ

ent nation. We have assembled in our thousands every September since then and we are back on the 19th this year to demand we push forward with urgency and gusto. Far too much poverty and inequality already scar our country and the situation worsens by the day under corrupt Tory rule in Westminster. Scotland is crying out for independence to allow us to lift our communities and families out of poverty and into a world of greater fairness and equality underpinned by a strong economy and global leader in clean energy technology and production.

Please help us organise a huge rally for independence on Sunday 19th September. Donate towards the costs of professional staging, PA systems, safety barriers and public space hire. If you cannot afford to donate money, please donate some time to publicising the event via your own social media outlets. Most importantly of all please make every effort to travel to Glasgow on Sunday 19th September and stand with the rest of us in a human chain of solidarity and hope demanding Scotland’s freedom.

The Final Countdown Rally 21st September 2019 ( FREEDOM SQUARE )

The recent announcement from the Scottish Government that they are preparing to use the “triple lock mandate,” delivered by the people of Scotland, in autumn of 2020 and the polls showing a steady rise for a Yes vote, the rally is designed to launch the “Final Countdown” to a successful Yes vote in #indyref2.
On October 12th 2014 Hope over Fear organised a hugely successful rally in George (Freedom)Square, Glasgow to help lift the spirits of the Yes family, after the disappointment of the referendum, and to declare that far from being over, in the words of Gerry Cinnamon in his Hope over Fear anthem, “its only the start of the show.”
We gave a commitment that day, to return to “Freedom Square” annually on or around September 18th until Scotland achieves full Independence, and we continue to honour that commitment.
There will be no marching, just a traditional gathering of the broad Yes family where you can spend a couple of hours catching up with old friends and making new ones, while being entertained by a variety of talented performers who have been consistent in their support for Scottish Independence, writing and producing songs of freedom and social justice to further the cause. There will also be new young performers who weren’t old enough to vote in the last referendum and of course kids entertainment to keep the bairns amused. There will also be inspiring speeches from some politicians and from well known commentators from within the Yes family.

Our volunteers work tirelessness all year round, whether it be organising fundraisers,

We also do one crowdfund-er a year to help with the costs.

Public Meeting Name The Date For Indy Ref2

Come to the meeting and hear Tommy Sheridan articulate his reasons for naming the date for indy ref 2 now.
Tommy is the spokesperson for the Hope over Fear campaign for Scottish independence and has been an advocate of the working class most of his adult life and has been at the forefront of many campaigns over the years for social justice and equality.
In his first year as an Msp he successfully moved a bill in the Scottish parliament banning warrant sales, so certainly knows his way around the political arena. Tommy speaks truth to power and because of this has been targeted by the establishment and the msm over the years. However as the saying goes, “if they attack you, you must be doing something right.”
Come along, and listen to the arguments for “naming the date” from a principled socialist who leads from the front.

BREXIT? SNP USE THE MANDATE LAUNCH THE LIFEBOAT INDYREF 2

Hope Over Fear Next Rally on the 24th March 2019 at 1PM

George Square ( Freedom Square )

Two weeks after this rally Scotland will be out of the Eu, yet still shackled to a parliament we did not vote. The choice is clear. There is a hard won and democratic triple lock mandate on the table right now. Our appeal to the Scottish Government is simple — Use The Mandate, Name the Date and let us secure Scotland’s freedom via IndyRef2.
